About

Mission

Seagull College Consulting’s mission is to guide students and their families through the steps of the college search and admissions process, while making this a positive learning experience that is organized, relaxed and educational.  The goal is to help students find a college that is the “right fit” academically, socially and financially.

About Greta

I have a passion for helping students with the college search process and decided to start a business that focuses exclusively on helping students navigate their academic future.  My background is in educational consulting and sales. For over 22 years, I served as a Higher Education Publishing Representative for West Publishing, Thomson Learning and Pearson Education. I met with college and university faculty and staff at over 50 institutions in the Midwest, using a consultative approach to providing print and e-learning textbook materials

and assessment solutions to college students. I thoroughly enjoyed the energy, intellect and vibe of the college campus environment.

Originally from Chicago, I grew up across the lake in southwest Michigan and have resided in Minnesota since 1991.  I received an Associate of Arts degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.  This has provided me with the experience of attending a small liberal arts college and a large Big 10 University.

I am a former Minnetonka High School College & Career Center volunteer, a former Butler University Parent Council member, a member of IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association) and MACAC (Minnesota Association for College Admission Counseling), as well as the co-chair of the Twin Cities group of Independent Educational Consultants. I am married with two daughters and have thoroughly enjoyed helping them navigate their respective undergraduate and graduate college searches.

  Seagulls

You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way.”

― Richard BachJonathan Livingston Seagull

Growing up on Lake Michigan, and living near Lake Minnetonka, seagulls are a constant and meaningful presence in my life.  A seagull symbolizes freedom, independence, opportunity and the confidence to chart a new course. Similarly, as high school students prepare for their future, they spread their wings and chart a new path in their lives.  One that requires independence and confidence in the unknown, while welcoming the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead.  I look forward to helping each student with their journey from high school to beyond.
